That's the one.

Top 4 or europa league is the target for me. Must get back into the CL if we want to keep moving forward.

Can get away with one season out of it but any longer and it gets harder and harder to get back in.

We absolutely are not winning the league this campaign, but that doesn't mean it can't be our best season since Fergie retired.

Fair point, I guess it's how we define 'best season'.

Mourinho was a miserable toxic mess but he did guide us to a Micky Mouse cup double and a 2nd place finish (albeit a mile behind Sportswash FC ).

But he also created a horrible atmosphere with an awful style of play, and filled the squad with expensive deadwood.

If all three of our signings can make an impact in a team that looks like it can run for longer than 60 minutes, we finish 4th or higher, and there's a good atmosphere in the squad, then I think it would be our best season since SAF retired, even if it doesn't look that way on paper. I also think we have a decent shot at a cup, even if it is one of the shittier ones.

We will finish 6th. I don’t know where all the giddiness has come from?

Think we could finish above Chelsea and or Arsenal. Hopefully:

City
Liverpool
Spuds
United
Arsenal
Chelsea

No, arguably worse players in the team, but we also had the benefit of some genuinely world class players being in the team at the same time, a genius manager and a spine of players that could manage the entire the squad on their own.

But I'm team positive reds. Not quite as deluded as Pure in thinking that we'll win the league, but I think we'll have a better finish than I predicted before the start of the season. And I intend to keep this positive outlook until at least 10pm tonight.
