I think Seamus has nailed it imo.
Keane has incredibly high standards, as befitting a top tier footballer. Only boxers (and Jessica ennis/Serena etc) seem to have the same single-minded determination. Most footballers don't have his drive, we know this from our own squad. Social media/brand image is more important than sacrifice for the sport. I don't think for a minute Keane was laughing at another man's tragedy. I have a massive bucket of excuses in my shed that contains all kinds of reasons why we would sooner lie in bed than not put in any effort at succeeding in something. Help yourself: they are all equal. just don't be woe-is-me-ing it later down the line. I'm off to bed now for a lie down |
