Default Eric Ramsay - New Set Piece Coach

Obviously don't know anything about this guy, but it's good to see that this weakness has been recognised and something is being done about it.
Quote:
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Eric Ramsay has joined the first-team coaching set-up.

The former Chelsea coach will work one-on-one with individual players and also take ownership over training on the side's set-plays.

“We've been fortunate enough to convince Eric Ramsay to come and join the best club in the world and in the country,” Ole told club media at Carrington on Monday. “He’s a very highly rated coach who is going to be working with individuals and in charge of set-plays as well.

“We’re excited. He’s young, fresh and with new ideas, an innovative coach we know from before. Kieran [McKenna] knows him really well from Loughborough, so we’re very pleased with that.”

Ramsay began his career at Shrewsbury Town in 2017, as head of coaching for the Shrews' youth programme.

He was then promoted to Academy Manager, before going on to work with their senior team as assistant coach.

In the summer of 2019, he then joined Chelsea to work with the Blues' Under-23s squad.
Here he is talking a lot, if anybody is interested

I'm sure the key take away will be that he's only got the job because he's Kieran McKenna's mate.

“…..to come and join the best club in the world and in the country,”

Really wish the club would stop using these kind of embarrassing meaningless lines. We sound like city used to do…

We might actually do alright if we add top leaking goals at set plays. We concede some rubbish ones which sets us back.

Be nice if we could score more off set pieces too instead of us getting nowhere near corners when attacking.

The club is actually progressing on and off the pitch.

Well yes, but that sounds a bit like ole simply adding another part in because he felt his sentence was too short. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds a bit stupid.

But as much as it irritates, it falls, for me at least, a little bit short of not having won a major trophy in 10 years but still talking like we have.

Bit of a career jump. Assistant coach of Shrewsbury 2 years ago.

Going have to go some to gain credibility with the first team.

Speaks fluent French and Spanish, so he'll have Pogba and Mata around his little finger in no time.

Once you've got those two trouble causers sussed, you've cracked it. Plus he'll know Deano Hendo from the Shrewsbury Town days, and he'll take no messing from the other players.

Well I was asking Ole to bring in more help on the coaching side of things so this is hopefully a step in the right direction
Then again he is a mate of Kieran McKenna so its still a bit jobs for the boys

Judging by that video thumbnail he's got good posture so its a thumbs up from me

Apparently we’re the only team in the league who hasn’t scored from a set piece.

Conceded from them though.

This guy really earning his corn
