Default The state of English football

How many times will we hear the premier league is the best League in the world?
Barca rocked up on Tuesday night and a squad that cost a fortune with players on stupid wages couldn't get the ball for long periods. And when they did, they either went long or gave it back. Then all we here is 'plucky 10 man city'. £#%&! off!

Last night Bayern taught Barcelona lite a lesson. Almost 80% possession for the away team. Arsenal looked like they'd never played football before.

yet these are 2 of the 4 teams fighting for the title ffs. With Liverpool being one of the four. A team that isn't even playing European football.

Best League in the world eh?

What's English about the premier league ?

Players ? Clubs? Fans ? Majority are all foreign .

and more to the point what about the English players? City with only Hart/Lescott Arsenal with Wilshire/Gibbs/Ox-Ch/ . City's players technique was poor compared to Barca.

So does the PL actually lead to a worsening of technique...Rooney who hasn't got the greatest touch has thrived (Barry/Milner/Gerrard etc) whilst players like Berbatov/Kagawa maybe even Veron struggle.

'The hurly burly up and at em not only encourages a type of player but disencourages the technically better players'. Discuss

As CoDers said, there's barely anything English about the premier league. Two of the twenty club's are Welsh ffs. If you want to watch an English league - better off watching the championship.

Welsh bastards, coming here taking all our players....

I'm surprised it's taken Bayern Munich beating Arsenal, for you to realise that English football is shit.

'English' football died about, what, 20 years ago or so?

My question is: who cares

Look at the front on you. You'd think it was the 15th of August.

You can't use Bayern and Barca as yard sticks to measure "english football" against, they are the 2 best teams in the world. United sit a dismal 7th in the premier league yet have smashed the team second in the Bundasleague (sp?) 5-0 at their place.
Bayern are so far and away the best team in Germany that the sporting director has said the hardest match that Bayern have faced this season was a friendly against the reserves.
Barca on the other hand are part of a league that over the last decade has been so 2 team dominated that it makes the Scottish league of the last decade look like a free for all. With only some inspirational management of Athletico Madrid looking to put any sort of dent in the monotany of it.

Oh and whilst I'm at it Moyes out Simeone in.

And Manchester United have dominated our league for twenty years, and look at the £#%&!ing state of us.

It won't do.
