They’d possibly have better chemistry due to being a two team hybrid (Chelsea Spurs).

Kante Dembele

Willian/Dele Eriksen Hazard

Kane

It would be tight alright.

Does that mean he’d be busting his balls for the south next season because he’s signed for Watford?
Pride. It would get bigger after the marker was laid down from the first one.

Kane might bag a consolation goal but it would be 5 or 6 to the north...

Stronger in every department....

If you’re just taking any players of any nationality it makes literally no sense whatsoever Sky/Bein etc should just rename the weekend City play Chelsea, NORTH VS SOUTH SUNDAY

My point being that there is no more north south between it. The entire 11 “north” players could transfer “south” the following season

I hate rugby and hurling but I watched two events recently with friends and it was brilliant and the reason why was there was a real history and passion behind it.

Rugby players have local lads playing for them ??

Warrington full of locals ? Bath, harlequins etc ? Don’t they ship players in from the Southern Hemispheres?

Of course there’s no north south in football...

It would still be an interesting game though...

Hurling

Where would the midlands clubs fit in? Mahrez would get a game and Vardy has a great record against the big teams.

Don't think Lukaku had this idea in mind with people leaving him out fwiw

Works fine in the NBA. I seem to remember Yao Ming from China playing in it fine. But that's the NBA. It wouldn't work in England, but for different reasons.

As mentioned, there is no clear north or south. No history of two rival conferences.

More importantly though, would footballers really be arsed? Being an NBA All Star pick and All Star MVP means something in basketball. But football doesn't have that same obsession with stats (although some posters on here...) so there is nothing to motivate them aside from a day out. It would end up having the same status as one of those celebrity football tournaments they put up on TV. Mediocre light entertainment and kind of pointless from a sporting point of view.

Looks like they asked VAR to divide north and south.
