Charlie McNeil joined Newport on loan for the rest of the season..

Half expected him to see him on the bench as a striker recently. Against the likes of Charlton and reading seeing as we are about 2 strikers short .

The pair of them do/did (McNeil and Hugill).

Physically.. I don’t think either of them are strong enough for that position at the top level yet.

McNeil the better prospect of the 2, he’s a bit of a goal machine so far, but yeah, neither blessed with an abundance of pace, so they need to be physically up to it. A loan, getting booted by blokes with mortgage payments to find will do them good.

What happened to the antwerp thing. Did anyone ever make it after going there

Died a death after the whole Higginbotham/Walwork thing, really. A few went there but not much happened For them IIRC.

Too much of a 1970s footballer name to make it at the very top these days.

With that one, the only thing he’ll be pulling out of the bag is a bottle of Irn Bru after he gets the winner for Cowdenbeath against Raith rovers.

He’s still a bit young/lightweight imo. Hell of a jump for him.

There are two good prospects in Amad Diallo at Sunderland and left back Alvaro Fernandez at Preston who we stole from Real Madrid. Both are doing well and are getting plenty of game time. There is also Laird another left back and Brendan Williams (might not be on loan now) another left back.

You have to question why we have 5 left backs and not many right backs on our books?
