Literally no-one has said players don't put in as much effort. What they've said is that sometimes the output isn't there for a number of reasons that they then went on to outline.

Manchester United have agreed personal terms and agents fees with Jadon Sancho’s camp as they edge closer to signing the Borussia Dortmund superstar, according to the Guardian.

United have been chasing Sancho all summer after boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made the England international his prime transfer target but getting a deal agreed has proven to be extremely difficult.

Dortmund are determined to sell Sancho on their terms and the Guardian claims the German giants are demanding a flat fee of £108m [€120m] after watching Chelsea pay Bayer Leverkusen around £70m for Kai Havertz this summer.

The newspaper says United’s latest offer of £90m – paid over several installments – plus £18m in add-ons was rejected but negotiations between all parties have been continuing in recent weeks.

There has now been a breakthrough as the Guardian claims that Manchester United have agreed any potential agents fees with Sancho’s representatives while a long-term contract worth around £250,000-a-week has also been agreed with the player.

SURELY a compromise can't be far away.

can't imagine if they are willing to pay that amount then a deal can't be done pretty damn quickly...obviously it's the installments that need to be sorted

surprised though if he's going to be on 250k a week...i would imagine that is probably double what he was making at Dortmund

woodward can't be this clueless or inept in the transfer market....Ole must be ready to strangle him

Manchester United will launch a sensational swoop for Gareth Bale - if they fail to land top target Jadon Sancho.

According to sources close to the club, the Old Trafford hierarchy are preparing to turn to the Real Madrid outcast as their long-running hunt for England ace Sancho continues to hit problems.

Ole's ready to grin in press conferences and take all the flak, like he's meant to until he's outlived his usefulness as a bullet shield for the boardroom and they sack him.

They’re right not to drop £100+m on a 20 year old at the moment tbph.

Where they’re wrong is taking so long to decide and having no viable back up plans to strengthen.

Bullshit are we after Bale. He’s a busted flush. Even the dimwit Ed will have learned from Sanchez.

Knowing United we’ll do what we did with Fernandez and get Sancho some January or other.

A proper club would have a realistic alternative lined up.

Does Woodward even do the negotiating or does Richard Arnold do it? Maybe that’s the problem; too many steps removed from the actual decision makers. The more links in the chain the more labourious these negotiations tend to be.
