You're talking about the standard of football.

We're a giant business whose outward appearance is key. That's why Ed is still in a job he is unsuited towards.

What Dunk is advocating is that we follow the likes of Juve: eat some agent shit for a few seasons while we sort our act out. That's partly why they lost Pogba to us. But then they gained Ronaldo, plus that dutch defender, and might get Pogba back.

United were always a draw despite not winning major trophies. We're a different gravy and will remain so right up until the point we admit we're not by folding to agents' demands.

These are very high level business strategies that may be above your security clearance.

There was clearly a "baggage" issue as there are a number of top European clubs who could have stumped up £20mill or whatever the fee is- as pocket change.

Being touted as the "best young striker in Europe" yet going to Dortmund with who knows what in the contract.

If it was as straightforward as "pay them what they want" - hed be at Madrid/Munich/City/Juve before Dortmund. Why would those clubs not pay a little bit of money for this collosus yoing prospect of a striker? And youre naive to think if it was only United that were in for him beside Dortmund. Other clubs dont have to put a press release because other clubs dont have apparent "egg on their faces" after a transfer goes down like this.

"Man utd target signs for Dortmund". He was targeted by Juve and PSG too.

His whole career will be orchestrated by that fat lard ridden leech, and thats the path Haaland has chosen. Theyll both make tons of money together. Bullet dodged

The worrying thing about them taking loads out of the club and being £150m more in debt than we were? Yeah paranoid idiots.

Totally off subject. I was on about the Glazers spending transfer cash.

The other point of course is that it’s patently evident that whoever signed Haaland now was simply acting as a 2 year (max) staging post for his rep/dad to truly cash in. That wouldn’t have mattered if it were us, Juventus or Real Madrid. The real coin comes from transfers not contract renewals/improvements. As such, any game time he got -and I’m sure that was stipulated too- would have been taking away from long term projects like Greenwood. No thanks. If we’ve learned anything from the Sanchez debacle it’s that these deals have a real meaningful effect on squad morale.

I actually feel a bit sorry for this kid being surrounded by the leech brigade. His own old man too. Still, at least we can go back to laughing at Keano ending him.

Not really - how many non-Raiola players have caused us the same level of debate in here compared to fat boy's stable?

If he'd been £70m outright and an agent who we don't know of then fine, not a problem. The club would probably welcome someone who initially costs more but where the agent has a chat with the club and the player and the start then lets the player be managed on the footballing side of the club. Pogba gives a shit more about what Raiola tells him than Ole, simple as that, which is where the problem lies.

They won't though. More long term contracts and extensions for the average and past it..

Because the sort of quality they want that would be good enough over a long period either aren’t available, are hugely expensive or won’t want to come to United in their current form. So they need to settle for what’s available and look for upgrades over the shorter term.

£#%&!ing hell. None of this is the point, is it? The kid was cheap as chips, but we would have been signing up to be Raiola and Haaland Sr’s bitches.

I’d rather go down.
