I don't get the fuss about this lad. Average. Absolutely average.

Some #@&%! on Sky was talking about Van Dijk, saying "he's the best centre half in the league along with Harry Maguire"

Pains me to say but VVD is easily the best centre back in the league.

If slab head is so good lets see how many top clubs come in for him, cant be hard to take him off leicester

He can play a bit which is unusual for an English CB and especially one who spent the bulk of his career so far in the lower leagues. He's the English David Luiz though because he's not that good on the ball to keep trying half the shit he does.

Every team he is in is shit defensively, including England when they are not playing the dross that most international teams make up most of their fixtures against. Almost no evidence of him being a good defender outside of being strong in the air.

I agree but could say the same about his England partner John Stones who for me is not that much a better now than two years ago...he just has very little to do as a defender for his club.

Quicker, more agile than Maguire. That sending off today was a glimpse of Maguire in a high line, yes he lacks pace/acceleration but he also doesn't have the reading of the game to play that high. Makes the likelihood of him being a success at a top club lower. Maguire at City would be an instant position to target.

Mourinho wanted him for his aerial power in both boxes, would never have allowed him to go on those runs forward, his passing alone is not that impressive.

i genuinely would like to see them get promoted, if only to see rashford and martial tear them to shreds, and pogba and lingard to cause a riot at elland road by dabbing in front of their fans.

but all the same...

City'll bring on the likes of Aguero soon enough and run in 4 goals in the 2nd half.
