and from United POV you could even argue that United only lost 1998 because he decided to retire in the summer before and United again ended 1 point short of the winners Arsenal.
Disgusting when you hear so-called experts undermine his brilliance. Chris Sutton saying his 'impact' was big, but his ability less so, and Jamie £#%&!ing Redknapp saying he played against far better players. Along with Ronaldo, Cantona is quite clearly the Premier League's greatest ever player.

Henry won 2 Premier League titles, Shearer 1, yet they're lauded by the masses as the best the league has seen because they regularly ran in goals against shite like Bolton and Bradford.

As you say, Cantona was essentially the integral player for his teams in an English career where he won the title in 5 out of 6 seasons; Ronaldo was the integral player when he won 3 titles on the spin, the Champion's League and the Ballon d'Or. No other players come close to these two. Without the ban, Eric would have won 6 league titles in a row, and three consecutive doubles. Imagine if Henry or Shearer came close to anything like that, ffs.

Just about all of that, how Bergkamp and particlarly Zola were mentioned in the same breath I'll never know, Eric was a genius and any reds or anyone else giving it the "didn't do it in Europe" line needs to catch themselves on. Only thing I'd disagree with was him being integral to Leeds, didn't he join them mid-season?

Could use the same argument for his first season at Utd.

Utd P-21 v P-15 for Leeds

He was a catalyst at both
