didnt Andy Mitten say "he is a red through and through and if he wasnt a footballer he would be up in the stands supporting the reds"?

Unfortunately he left on a free as PSG was offering more money to the multi-millionaire.

Considering the current state of our midfield and the fact we didn’t strengthen it, this might sound particularly ridiculous. But he was average and not worth the money he wanted. I don’t care he’s gone, I care we didn’t replace him.

All of this. Shame, I had high hopes when he first arrived, was never actually that good though.
