i used to train with blackpool when phelan was the assistant manager to gary megson there. all i can say is that i hope his training technique has improved since then. it mainly consisted of shuttle runs, laps of the field, and shooting practice, while he chatted to the other coaches.

Maybe Meulensteen working along with him as first team coach will help things. Or maybe not, time will tell.

if fergie has had to appoint from within why not muelensteen? who actually might have an idea or two of his own. hopefully he'll be doing the training anyway.

One of my old mates has got released by blackpool this year, Matty Lawlor. No idea who he's playing for now but his brother is at Fleetwood Town.
