He did by an oppo player at a reserve game

It was a bloke call Dave Bamber and he was a real lanky centre forward about 6"5 or summat playing for Blackpool. Jeff knew him and (suprisingly) didnt like him and was just abusing him from the bench all half mainly about Bambers size but lack of heart. Anyways Bamber didnt really say much but at halftime made a beeline for jeff down the tunnel and landed an absolute pearler headbutt on him. £#%&!ing magic it was. I remember Jeff staggering into the changing room after being patched up and just sitting on the end of one of the benches dazed and staring into space.

Not a great ending for Bamber though as in the ensuing scuffle an ex rugby league legend called Johnny Whitely who was doing some strength coaching with us at the time was the first man to him after the headbutt and poleaxed him with an elbow to the head that would have knocked out an elephant.

I know but no-one deserves to be knocked back as not up to a job in football by Les Reed.

He is still one of the hardest blokes around now His weightlifting feats back in the early 90s when he trained us were truly mindboggling. A proper ledge is Gentleman John
