Ever? Doesn't sound like they have such a great relationship after all.

PSG want him.

Doesn't even give Utd a chance to have a good look, bloody or otherwise.

Talk there’s a fee agreement with Barca, they’re waiting for de Jong to confirm whether or not he’s interested in the move.

He did say no when initially asked, but that was before Barca had agreed to sell.

You see stuff like that doesn't exactly fill you with optimism.

move on then. If the manager's called him directly and he's said no, then that should be it.

I’m of the same mind tbf. If Barca have decided to flog him, he’s a bit £#%&!ed though.

Of all their saleable assets, I can understand him being the one they’re prepared to use to drum up funds. The call from ETH was apparently early doors, the fee has been sorted this week, that may give him pause for thought.

Reeks of a di Maria though.

This. The draw for him would be ETH. I don’t mind talking a player round who has reservations. This doesn’t feel like some older mercenary, but if he doesn’t wanna come after speaking to ETH, then that’s that really.

This is why CL qualification is so important.

Can certainly understand Barsa hearing it was us interested and thinking "ker-ching!"

Indeed I imagine Frenkie’s agent had a similar reaction.

Get Erik to invite him round for a friendly drink, but definitely don’t slip anything into it when he’s not looking…

He should be jumping at the chance. Barca don't seem to care much and this bizarre need for CL football I just don't get.

Hopefully Erik is selling him the dream. Could be the key to success.
