Suarez was probably the last top player.

Not been much more since that I can think of. Bar the likes of Wijnaldum and Eriksen.

VdB was no doubt a cracking number 10 in a dominant side in a lower league,
Bruno was similar, but where he has stepped up in a more demanding league
Donny has looked lost.

In his 4 starts ?

So lost he scored on his debut....

Comparing him to Bruno and his impact is ridiculous, the guy plays every single minute...

Fair play for defending your guy

But no one has the right to play for Manchester United you must earn it.

Also started all 4 FA cup games, 3 League cup games, 3 Champions League games and 1 Europa League game.

Not one even half memorable performance, he looked lost the majority of the time.

And Bruno has proved why, he proved why in his first start, then his second and so on...

I am talking players here just so we're clear ..

That season at Ajax he played almost every game as they romped to a double and were seconds away from the champions league final ..
Ronaldo 3 years ago. As much a United player as Beek was when he did it.

You're having a mare today pal. Started off angry, going down hill.
Expecting underpants on your head and pencils up your nose at any moment.

How is Ronaldo a united player when he left the club decades ago ..Donny was nominated whilst on United's books..

It was for his season at Ajax just before he joined us....

(It's a very minor point, but the vultures are circling)

Balloon Door nominations...

They usually nominate around 50 players. Pogba has even been nominated over the past few years too so says all you need to know...

He came joint 28th. Pogba came 15th in the previous year's Ballon d'or. There has to be a better way to keep the faith in DVB without hyping that up.

I struggle to recall which players have come 3rd behind Messi and Ronaldo all these years.

So we're clear, your yardstick is a player that played well in a team that nearly beat spurs....?

Not for anything he did at United, though.

Ronaldo nominated and won at United, won at Madrid, scored in Juventus.

Last players to score for United in Juventus in the CL were Giggs and Ruud since Mata scored that free-kick a few years ago, but that was the last time we played in Turin in the CL.
