Given the volume of players we need is in double figures, this makes total sense. If there is going to be a lot of incoming players (I know) - then we shouldnt be dismissive about shrewd moves such as this one. We need senior bodies to fill out the squad as much as starters.

Trained with Ajax before he signed for Brentford apparently.

It's hard to get angry about this so it almost certainly wont happen.

If he is going to promote young players we will need some experienced players given who is leaving.

Whether Eriksen is the right sort of player who knows.

I’d worry about his heart clunking out, but even then he’d still move quicker than Matic.

He wont be on astronomical wages, he's experienced and has been very good for Brentford.

It would be a good signing on a 2 year contract with an option of a 3rd.

We're not going to sign 7 or 8 world class players in their prime this summer. It would be ridiculous to think this club is organised enough to get in more than 3 or 4 proper signings (negotiating with clubs etc...), so if we can get in Rudiger and Eriksen on free's it would be a massive help. Especially when you consider the big list of people likely to depart.

Take him on a free all day long.

It’s not a bad shout at all. Primarily, we should be after younger players, but if he’s one several to come in, then it could be free hit.

He’s infinitely better on the ball than anything we have already and he has that PL experience in a good spurs team. 30 ain’t much these days either. We’d still need two more dynamic central midfielders, even if he did come in.

In some ways we’re in the short-term building position of Newcastle but without the long-term financial muscle.

I’m fine with ETH turning over a high number of players after a season or two if it helps us get where we want to be…as long as it isn’t an ongoing approach.

I’ll be happy with a mass cull over the summer even if it costs us next season.

Would be useful as long as he’s one of about 6+ and comes in as a rotation option.
