Default Minimum expectations 22/23 season

europa win plus top 4.

If we don't win the europa and are outside the cl qualifying spots then ten has been a failure.

top 4 or europa win and it's ok.

Just having a go will be a massive improvement. Having a team who plays for the shirt and isnt a pushover, challenges for a couple of trophies and finishes top 4 will be enough.

Decent WiFi

Farrow and ball concourses

Get reading (h) or villa (a) in fa cup

Go on our best run of form just before world cup then return as a injury hit shambles

ETH to do better than most new managers but get ludicrous negative press

Someone to explain the difference between expectations and predictions

Not being an unmitigated disgrace against any semi-competent side.

Not having to read about every players minor £#%&!ing grievances every day in the papers.

Challenging for some sort of trophy would be nice. If it's not too much trouble for the (quote) "biggest club in the world"

I'm trying to be optimistic but the shower of shit last season are the worst I've ever seen. Apart from Ronaldo they are cowards to a man. If ETH is forced to field the same bunch of #@&%!s as the last two managers he will go the same way I don't care how good he is.

Hand on heart I don't see next season panning out much different from this one once these spineless bastards realise ETH expects them to put a shift in every week.

Also…

Players to actually give a shit and no PR nonsense after poor performances

No 4 and 5-0 hammerings would be nice too.

Just play well ffs. look like they've got some kind of system going, beat city and liverpool at least once (whilst playing well), DON'T end up in any type of Europa competition.

The feeling that a solid foundation has been put in place so we have something positive and hopeful to build on

Basically similar to the impression I had during Klopp’s first season in charge
You could tell something special was brewing at Anfield and that they just needed upgrades in some key positions to get there

I’ve never felt that at any stage post Fergie

Get rid of the shit@#%&!s
Instill some pride in the players.
Send out a team that can master the basics skill of professional football players & looks like it has a plan & some tactical coherence.

Anyone expecting a trophy in the first season is a total nobber. Unless your club is floating on a sea of money (and even that's no guarantee), success will take time.

This is exactly the kind of mentality we need to get away from. There is no ‘minimum requirement’. Or else what?

We simply need to get better. To be able to look at the team and see an improvement in the basics. Application, fitness and generally looking like a team that is coached.

If we do that, we will improve and points and league positions will take care of themselves.

Any ‘we must finish x’ boils down to nothing more than thinking United should and deserve to be somewhere. Well, we’re shit now. It’s a rebuild. Rebuilds don’t survive if you start putting minimum requirements on them after a year.

Ferguson famously had a minimum expectation of a trophy per successful season.

Can’t really measure it in terms of position/trophies, but looking forward to going to games (rather than it being out of a sense of duty) and having some form of expectation would be nice. Bit like being a Catholic really …
