Italy are the perfect example of a team and country who know exactly what they're good at just stick to it instead of getting caught up in whatever the latest "philosophy" is.

They've looked really good this tournament so far.

No time added on, Wales will certainly be grateful for that. What a battering.

Tbh thought the Italians might sportingly field a weakened team for this one.

Pathetic performance. 3 at the back not working. Italy are a class act even with changes. Solid outfit

Mate they were attacking Turkey relentlessly 3-0 up in the 92nd minute of extra time. What about this side made you think they were gonna go easy?

Agree. Too much off “let’s tiki taka bullshit, then it changes to high quick press , “ whatever the fad is at the time. There is no correct way of playing other than winning.

Thing is it’s easy to remember Italy have had a few bad years. Don’t think they even made the last euros. They just addressed it and decided to build rather than “ OH SHIT WE NEED TO START PLAYING LIKE SPAIN , SOMEBODY GET THE TIKI TAKA COACHES IN AT GRASSROOTS”

Edit. Also once thing you get with Italy and Germany etc is the confidence. They have leaders which don’t shit the bed. Chiellini bonnucci etc are proper leaders who are confident and play to a high standard.

Likes of stones sterling, rice look like they’d shit the bed the moment it gets tough.

One of the things I like about international football is there's much more difference in styles.

It stems from the fact they've both won, what, 4 world cups each? It's in their DNA. Aside from Brazil, they're the best and they know it. They also seem to embrace the expectation and use it as motivation.

Contrast that with England who's players are so mentally £#%&!ing weak that they have to employ psychologists and all sorts of brain shrinks to make sure the 200k a week ponces don't completely crumble under the slightest expectation.

I'm sure the media in Italy and Germany are every bit as ruthless and unforgiving as the media over here but the Italians and Germans just get on with it, unlike our players who'll probably have an army of PR experts straight on social media after they crash out looking for nasty comments to take divert attention.

They have made plenty of changes.

They haven't really had much of a test so far to be fair.

Remember when the vermin signed him they had a thread on RAWK called "Joe Allen, Maestro"

Within a few months it had become "Joe Allen"
