Press going with Spurs not prepared to sell him to Premier League team.

Levy going with "£#%&! that, he's going to the highest bidder, I've got a stadium to pay for" no doubt.

£200m, £#%&! right off!

Saying that, £50m a year over four summer transfer windows, wouldn't put it past Woodward.

Thumbs down

Genuinely do not want. Would if it was on the cheap ( £50mil plus a load of turds ) but other than that, he's a cripple.

I’m not so sure he’s a cripple...

Harry Kane's record the last 6 seasons

14/15 - 51 games - 31 goals
15/16 - 50 games - 28 goals
16/17 - 38 games - 35 goals
17/18 - 48 games - 41 goals
18/19 - 40 games - 24 goals
19/20 - 25 games - 17 goals

As always, there are a number of pros and cons for a signing like this. I've thought of 5 for each.

Pros:

- Proven Premier League quality.
- English, so there won't be any cultural adaptation issues, and he will already know a lot of the players well from England duty.
- Seems like a very good pro, who would have a positive impact on the culture of the squad.
- Good age, as he turns 27 this July, so should have another 4-5 seasons at the top.
- The rarest commodity in the game - a genuine world-class goalscorer.

Cons:

- Tottenham would want, and most likely get, a quite ridiculous fee, that would no doubt be more than what he's actually worth.
- As he turns 27 this year there is very little re-sale value should he wane after a couple of seasons.
- Strong argument that he's passed his peak, given the niggling injuries, and reduction in goal output.
- Would he block the progress and development of Rashford and Greenwood?
- Are there other areas in the side that would benefit more from the investment, such as a wide forward like Sancho, or a holding midfielder like Neves?

One thing I am very confident about though, is Ole making the right decision. The most impressive part of his tenure so far has been recruitment, and he's got it pretty much bang-on with every signing he's made.

I personally would lean towards not signing Kane, as I think we need to build the attack around Rashford. Use the money for Sancho instead, and trust Rashford to grow into our first-choice centre forward.

There’s something off about him. He hasn’t moved well for a couple of seasons imo. I’d honestly prefer Jimenez at Wolves

Agree..

£50m on Jimenez or £200m on Kane..

It’s a no brainer.

Only an idiot would take Jimenez over Kane. People talking like he is finished.

Transfer fees to us are not like transfer fees to other clubs. No one in this country - and few world wide - are in the position we are to offset investment in players with increased revenues through marketing. Not even close. Woodward will be in a position to know very accurately how many more shirts we’d sell, how many more link ups we could anticipate and so on; and by significantly improving the team in the process he’d take the heat off himself from a footballing perspective.

That said, everything has it’s limits. We could pay a lot, but 200m would be madness.

Bring in Kane and Sancho. Keep Pogba and bring back Smalling.

That would leave us with a bit of a squad.

Why would we want to keep Pogba? Haven’t we concluded by now that his mentality is something we need to drum out of this squad at all costs? We all had high hopes but it didn’t happen and never will. Accept it and move on.
