Oh dear.

Sic is a Latin word meaning "thus", "so", "as such", or "just as that". In writing, it is placed within square brackets and usually italicized—[sic]—to indicate that an incorrect or unusual spelling, phrase, punctuation, and/or other preceding quoted material has been reproduced verbatim from the quoted original and is not a transcription error.

Mark Speight took his own life after his girlfriend died of a drugs overdose.
If you take drugs or commit suicide you're asking for trouble.

To make fun of something like this is about as low as anyone can stoop in my opinion.
I'd guess the 'jokers' on this thread are no older than 13 or 14.
Nobody with any grasp on what life is all about would 'laugh' about somebody losing their Mum.

I find it best to type the sentence in black first so I can read it then change the colour. That way you don't make embarrassing mistakes

It seems that people are saying that jokes about people dying are ok as long as they are funny.

And you know what, I think that's true if you think about it.

i don't think he was actually wishing her dead. it was the old switcheroo - the headline sent you one way, the body of the text sent you the other.

quite skillful really, and it made me chuckle/groan. undeniably it was in terribly bad taste, but i've heard worse.

remember we are NOT scousers.

No of course not. I'm not suggesting that we wallow in second hand grief.

...but, your morals would have to be in the £#%&!ing gutter to poke fun at somebody who's mother has just died. Regardless of which £#%&!nig team he plays for.

When Ronaldo's father died last year I bet there was this sort of bullshit on City/scouse/Leeds forums....& we'd have all (rightly) been appalled by it.

I'd like to think we'd be above this kinda stuff.

I'll take the piss out of Lampard for his deflected goals & his 'weight' ...but I'd NEVER sink to any of this crap.

BTW, was I wrong? Is it bad enough to be banned for?
