I thought Rooney was, he was very industrious and certainly played much better than he has been. But Carrick, Kagawa and Jones, as well as the defence as a whole, deserve a shout.

Carrick by a mile you mentalists

G Nev could only justify giving it to Rooney because he wasn't in his 'natural position'

Would not disagree him being the second best player. Whenever he plays, a clean sheet follows. Still the world's best defender.

ferdinand was too untroubled to be motm, but he and vidic played well. carrick and rooney ran the game. evra, valencia and kagawa were on about the same "ok" level and I will generously include jones. veep n cheech didn't do enough.

love de gea.

spot on.
..apart from the Valencia bit. He did well but he's got to start taking the ball to the by-line & getting some crosses in. He ALWAYS checks & stops or looks to come inside early.

Ferguson.

Motivation spot on. Daft team selection may look better if they can come away from Wham in good nick as well.

If it turns out he can get Rooney playing in midfield he'll need another knighthood, never mind being named after an exotic vegetable on the internet

Carrick.
