Could've easily been done tbh by simply playing 4-3-3, although obviously have Scholes in for either was the sensible option in any sane person's mind.

The current England set-up will be compromised in the same way (& United are), by shoehorning Rooney in there despite his performances not warranting it. He has a role to play but it's more of an old head in the squad than talismanic striker of old.

Wilshere is twice the player Henderson is. Great pace & work ethic in there though & should play to the English strengths, if you're going to go out at least go out on your feet playing your own football. We'll shit out & be cautious though, should play something like that & concentrate on pace & power. Might lack some subtlety but £#%&! it, we can't do the sophisticated stuff with any of the players we have available.
