Full arm extension, nothing sneaky or subtle about it, the type of incident where most players just stop and expect the call to come.

How can a ref be that inept? Every time I look at that Gif it is more baffling.

Carrick has to go in at CB when he's back (which hopefully is very very soon).

Stick him next to Jones, with Rafael and Shaw either side and give them a run of games.

Blackett has done well this season & other than Sunderland 2nd half next to Jones he's been all alone, didn't expect much from him but asking him to lead that defense at 20 is suicidal stuff.

No two. Rafael Carrick Jones Shaw.

It's shite, and not a long term fix but he's a good communicator and doesn't switch off like the others.

A brand new team playing a new system for a new manager usually does when put under pressure. They panic and get confused. It's normal. And it was the @#%&! of a ref who created the circumstance.

You're right, it is shite.

And shouldn't even be considered.

A passive shithouse central midfielder at centre half. What could possibly go wrong?

They're not integrated enough as a team to do that yet. Given the stage they're at in the coaching process with loads of new personnel and a new manager who's completely changing the way they play, the shit that happened today is going to lead to confusion and panic. And it was the ref who created the circumstances for it to happen, not Leicester.

Instead of building confidence and momentum, confidence is now shot back to shit and they're all going to be nervy again. Instead of getting a little bit of luck that new teams need to push on, the ref £#%&!ed them over. He was determined to give Leicester opportunities to get back and to test united at a fragile stage of development.

It's all going to turn significantly harder in a few weeks, and though our trajectory is positive, we are running out of time to get settled.

Think you're doing Leicester a bit of a disservice. Yes, Clattenburg gifted them the second, but after that they played with an excellent tempo and put us under a lot of pressure. We just couldn't cope with it, and completely folded.

They're hardly the Burnage High School under 14s though are they? A team, however newly formed, containing 9 full internationals should have had a bit more mental fortitude than they showed

It's one thing if a ref is giving the 50/50's against you, but you are in real £#%&!ing trouble when he starts giving the 90/10's as well. That wasn't even £#%&!ing close. One of the clearest fouls you'll ever see. At no point does Varney even look at the ball. Without that absolute gift, I wasn't seeing Leicester get back in the game. After it they had the wind in their sails.

Van Gaal gave him a massive pass in my view.
