Default Benitez in trouble

Suggestion that he's going to be sent on his way "in the next days/weeks", despite the recent 10-2 victory. Marca going with it as well as 'El Larguero' on Cadena Ser, the most popular sports programme in Spain and quite well connected with Madrid. Players want him out.

Mou a "serious candidate" to replace him.

AS covering it too. Players can't stand him apparently.

Jorge Mendes said there had not been an approach for the former Chelsea manager. “There is nothing,” Mendes said, when asked about reports Mourinho had provisionally agreed to replace Van Gaal. “We don’t know what will happen in the future, but now there is no agreement. There isn’t an official proposal either, that’s not true.”
Looks like we're gonna lose out on Jose.
Van Gaal gone next season anyway.
Pep at city.

Giggs.

He's been in trouble since he took the job...

Most baffling decision, on their part, in recent years

Most players hate him. He's cold and distant and doesn't connect with them. Just another example of a coach who finds success when young, and then keeps doing things the exact same way as players and the game changes.

the two biggest clubs have the same sort of manager!

it's even uncanny how they both love writing notes during the games!

I'd argue against that

I personally know a couple players who play for "distant and cold" managers but they still turn up and get the job done. If anything Benitez being under pressure is more the fault of the players and their ever increasing influence/power at some of the biggest teams. It's a bit sad tbh.

I wouldn't want my manager pandering to the over inflated ego of players, just so he can get them on side.

Scenes when Mourinho is there, Guardiola is at city and we're 9th with Giggs stood on the sidelines shouting "push up". Suppose dunk will be made up because remember we have a crap squad anyway, the same squad Van Gaal has £#%&!ing left like this.

Not much point in having managers in modern football as it looks like the players run the show these days by downing tools

Real Madrid (Fat waiter and most others)
Chelski (Maureen)
City(Mancini)
Utd(Moyes and possible LVG)
Liverpool(hodgson)

To name a few

Old school strict Managers like fergie or shankly that needed a few years to build thus upsetting a few players along the way would have no chance at a top club today

Owners, social media as us fans in general are to blame as in management 1 year today equates to about 2 years back in the day.(so van gaal has had 3 years in charge and it feels a bit like froggie in 1989)
