Thumbs up

In 1995 they lost the first leg of the European Cup semi final at home 0-1, then went to Greece and won to reach the final. Think they're the only side to turn around a first leg defeat at home in the semi final stage in the 50+ years history of the competition.

They utterly destroyed Real Madrid the following year at the Bernabeau. I've got that game on DVD. Seriously, they could have won by 7 or 8 that night. Stunning. Think they beat AC Milan at the San Siro that same season. After they returned from Japan having won the Intercontinental Cup, wasn't there something like 100,000 Ajax fans there to welcome the new world champions home?

Fantastic side.

The thing that strikes me about the 95 CL final is that of Ajax's matchday squad, 13 of the 16 were Dutch, and 14 of Milan's 16 were Italian. Never see that kind of thing again.

Bishi, there was the foreigner rule in the Champions League then - then again, probably wouldnt have affected either side much anyway.

Oh and watcher, they played Bayern in the semi final. They drew 0 0 in the first leg at home.

It wasn't named ajax until 2005, but you're right, the concept of techniques for the asynchronous loading of web content date back to the mid 1990s

I always forget about that rule.

If people are brutally honest there have only ever been about 3 really good football matches.

Nope. Only three. Some Brazil game in the 1970 wc, some Italian game in 82 and Liverpool Newcastle 4-3 from 199whatever.
