How about it effects the later playing team in a positive way.....

Team X won, so now Team Y just goes straight out with attack in mind, get a couple in the first half and have it sewn up 3-0 on 70 minutes.

They knew what they had to do as Team X had won.

They couldnt do much else but go for the win.

I didn't say it couldn't have a positive affect.

If you acknowledge one, you acknowledge the other.

Thumbs up Re: all this "advantage playing first" %@#$&!s

any situation united has is automatically an advantage, generally an unfair one and certainly grounds for devaluing any success we have.

if there is any advantage to be had then it has to be by the team playing second.....

but if youre in a battle for the title (or against relegation for that matter) you always have to pressume your rival will win and you need to gain maximum points yourself....if your rival drops points then its a brucey bonus....

the pressure to win is always there.

to say the first team has an advantage is %@#$&!s.....

although i do laugh when i think of citeh thinking they were safe on the last day of the season, with 5 minutes to go ...before realising they hadnt done enough to avoid relegation

Tbf, I think the argument of some is that playing first is an advantage IF you are already ahead.......

Whereas it is a must-win game for Chelski today, regardless of which order it is played in.

so you get yourself an advantage by being ahead (on points) which then gives you an advantage no matter what order the games are then played.
the media may be onto something here

TBH the team that is most consistent over 38 games and has the most points has the advantage... Stays on here.

A win tomorrow and it's good as over IMHO.

If Spurs get anything tonight it's all over tbf.

....of course, the chances of Spurs getting anything at Stamford Bridge is pretty much zero.

Haven't won there since 1990 apparently, and Spurs have only won one of their last ten games
