Despite the histrionics on here, if Ronaldo does leave and we get a good deal and the funds are given to Fergie and spent well, we should be able to strenghen our position, rather than it seriously being undermined by him leaving.

We really should go for Benzema though, an offer Lyon and the player can't turn down. The only possible rivals this summer could be Chelsea.
