Football365:
“Manchester United have now reportedly ‘ruled out’ a move for Frenkie de Jong, but the Barcelona star would consider a ‘sensational offer’ from Chelsea. The Red Devils have been targeting De Jong throughout this summer, with new boss Erik ten Hag identifying him as a key target. Earlier this week, it was reported that United and Barcelona had come to a ‘full agreement’ over the transfer which would see United pay an initial €75m plus €10m extra in add-ons. Barcelona told De Jong a move to United would be ‘best for his career’ but the Dutchman is having none of it and has joined the Catalans on their preseason tour. Reports suggest United are willing to bide their time until the end of the window to get their man, but Sport claim Ten Hag’s side will now move on to other targets; they’ve ‘already ruled out’ pursuing De Jong further. Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old this summer, and the report claims they remain interested. It’s said De Jong would consider a move to Stamford Bridge if the the Blues made a ‘sensational offer’ to sign him.“ |

Is that the same barcelona that had to let their greatest ever player go for nothing because they couldn't afford to pay him? Still can't pay their players currently and have been reduced to getting players in on loan from £#%&!ing Wolves and 40 year old Dani Alves on a free? That Barcelona? Sounds like they'd know a thing or two about clubs losing their "cachet". |

It doesn’t take until now for ten hag to decide de Jong doesn’t want to come. Either he moved on ages ago or he has good reason to continue waiting. I think it’s Barca who want united to pull out. Chelsea probably told them they’ll pay up the wages Barca owe de Jong, so Barca are 10-20m better off than doing a deal with united. Though I read yesterday that united had changed the structure of the deal so Barca get more money now, to help them pay off de Jong. If that’s true, there shouldn’t be much issue. Ultimately, only ten hag, de Jong, and a few others at united and Barca have reliable info on the situation. The media are just speculating and parroting what they get told by vested interests with agendas. There’ll barely be any actual investigative journalism or independently double sourced standards behind the reporting. |

Oh, see they mention sport further down. Probably a Barca mouthpiece or whatever. As reliable as someone down the pub. In amongst all the shit, they’ll be some truth knocking around. But if you go onto a newspaper website such as the mirror, there’s constant contradictory reports about the deal every single day. It’s mostly empty content for content sake. The Dutch journalist in Holland is probably reliable, but he’ll likely only be parroting what he’s been told, and what he gets told could just be agenda driven due to the wage situation. Quote:
Assuming he hasn’t privately moved on ages ago. Anyone saying united are being stupid in this deal are basically saying ten hag is clueless. Amazing that Barca can act the way they have been doing, yet it’s united that gets the criticism and negative spin. |

Until he proves otherwise I’ll just assume ten Hag’s not a moron and ignore Simon £#%&!ing Jordan who knows nothing and peddles in drama because hysteria is the only way the numbskull can get anyone to listen.
The Mirror literally had two stories side by side that said he wanted to join but wouldn’t let Barcelona out of their obligations and he had no interest and was about to stage a sit-in. And yet we still lap it up. |

Barca set to trigger Lever 2 on Wednesday/Thursday. This will allow them to move for Kounde, Azpilecueta and Alonso.
They could pay FDJ and let him go. Reports starting to emerge that the deferred wages weren’t protected in any way contractually and that as far as Barca are concerned FDJ is due £#%&! all, legally, at this moment in time. The contact being ‘re-structured’ and the ‘deferred’ wages factored in as pay rises over the latter years of the contract. They’re desperate to shift him because pay-rises are each season so the back end of his contract is extremely heavy. They have played him and has advisers like a fiddle, or think they have, at least. Properly shitty behaviour imo. |
