think that's probably a good shout, though it's essentially 4-4-2 (Park covering either winger to play through). Any 3 from Giggs, Park, Nani, Anderson and Hernandez fits.

Throb - how many times has Scholes been sent off in the first 10 mins ffs?

He's made for these games. He's pivotal to us dictating the pace and retaining possession IMO

Don't see why not. They predominantly play 4-4-2 and aren't a top side really.

Why are you asking Throb? It was Tiberian who made the point

Scholes hasn't been booked in Europe this season tbf, but his tackling has been a bit many a time in the league... he's also completely £#%&!ed after 45mins in a high tempo game, & Schalke like to counter.

He was exceptional in the first 45mins of the Chelsea league game, & (imo) the City semi-final, but he runs out of steam quickly, so to need to replace someone after 45 - 60mins of a game regardless of how it's going is risky. I'd think bringing him on might be a better shout - I'd still be happy to see him start though, we're a far better side with Scholes than without.

Not sure about Scholes starting tbh. If he gets sent off in the first ten minutes we could be in trouble imo

schalke normally line up with a 442 but the 2 central midfielders sit deep while raul drops back a little effectively meaning its really a 4231, farfan likes to use his pace so will hang out wide and uchida if he plays will also bomb on down there. however jurado on the other side likes to play a bit more further in field but rooney will come deep in there so i doubt we will get outnumbered

meaning it's 4-4-2 with split strikers
