Default our season hangs on smith :<(

larsson gone, scholes suspended and saha and ole out. for the next few weeks we will be playing smith, whether it's two up front with rooney or one with rooney on the left. i'm not best confident, tbh.

boro away does not look like a game we're going to win.

to be fair to smith - he did well with that turn and shot when he came on.

Nearly got into a ruck in the boozer last night for slating Smith.

The fact remains, he's not a good enough forward and not a good enough midfielder.

All we can do is pray that his commitment is enough for us to limp past our opponents while Saha is out.

looked like he's bulked up his upper body while injured.

looked up for it when he came on, aggressive and a few nice touches. with our squad this was alwyas gonna happen and from the interviews last night there is def no u-turn on larsson (he must be mad).

players we all have doubts over will now be given the opportunity to prove us wrong in the next month.

If it is any consolation, smith probably had his best game and looked somewhat back to his best in the reserve game last week (against bolton i think), flying into tackles and plenty of attitude, don't think he will let us down.

Just shows you how a self inflicted sending off can affect everything.
You know who I'm on about.

Default my only concern

is smith trying too hard and getting sent off.

as far as his ability as concerned, he's an able sub as he's proved before when we had to rely on him. as a foil for rooney, I think he's far better than larsson, even if he is not a great goalscorer.

£#%&!ing hell, if we can't beat boro with smith in the team, we might as well pack up and go home. please don't mention boro (a) last year.... that was with a hole a midfield.

imagine if our season relied on fletch?!

exactly.

get off smudger's back and watch him take all the strain from rooney.

giggs will be rested for the week-end and he and ronaldo will destroy boro. smudge will be your hero. you knows it.

to be fair the goals have been coming in from all angles this season and I feel that Smith will bring a new zest to the team and will certainly ruffle a few feathers. Saha will be back in 2 weeks hurrah

I never thought I'd see the day where we were all praying to see Saha back .

In some ways (despite being top) it shows how far we have fallen.

Does it £#%&!, just shows you what a good player Saha is, but people couldn't see past the horse.

you didn't watch him fire us to the top of the table then?

you haven't noticed we play better football as a team with him in the side?

you missed the fact that carrick hasn't had the runs in behind to hit or a player to hold up his threaded ball then?

totally passed you by that he turns defences creating space for rooney, giggs and ronaldo to exploit?
