Default Hugo Lloris

Quite a few papers/websites suggesting we're going to bid 15m. Thoughts?

Good centre forward.

I think i've had enough of french keepers who think they are outfield players

would be a good move considering the alternatives we have if VDS is injured

For shure. Although PiG, IMO, is an able deputy. Can certainly see one of them leaving in the Summer though.

hopefully we'll sign a proven keeper. I personally dont think PiG is good enough, but thats probably down to his shit hair.

The press pull these figures out of their arses (in the same way they seemed to have decreed that David Villa will go for 30 mill and Silva for 20-odd).

There's no way Aulas and Lyon will accept a bid for France's number one keeper before the World Cup, and certainly not one which is under 17 million euros. They'd laugh in our faces if we bid that.

He isn't going to come to become no2 to anyone, so Edwin needs to hang up his gloves.....

Saying that, we can't afford Lloris. Swap deal with Berb?

Don't get me wrong though, the lad's top class (I've seen him play many times).

He's far, far ahead of anyone else in France and he's only 22. He'd be great for us I think but we just won't get him - that's all I'm saying.

Edit: why would Lyon be interested in swapping him with Berba? They wouldn't want him and couldn't afford his wages even if they did.

I'd be delighted if we got Lloris.

In fact, any players we sign that are virtually guaranteed to solve a problem/position for anything like 10 years are always good deals, regardless of price. Rio, Rooney, Keane etc...

Lloris is better than Akinfeev imo, and I prefer my 'keepers tall like VDS. Akinfeev is more Shay Given (6' 1" my ringpiece).

Lloris went to Lyon for £6m, a £10m profit in 2 years or so is pretty good for them, you can't expect 'keepers to go for Buffon / Toldo money these days.

This is OL and Aulas you're talking about, i'd be stunned if he went for less than £20m. They have no reason to sell and at 22 I doubt he's in a rush to leave.
