All this nonsense about them signing Haaland or Mbappe. Come on stop being silly. How long after Abu Dhabi took over City before they started signing top quality players. Sure, they splurged on Robinho as some sort of statement but it went horribly wrong.

They started by plucking the best players from the teams around them in the league who were financially weaker. Namely Arsenal. Adebayor, Nasri, Kolo Toure...etc. Even Tevez from us because we at a financial weak point. Then, once they'd got into the top 4/5 they started getting in the likes of Silva and Yaya Toure.

It all depends on who is in charge of newcastle's transfer policy, because as United have shown in the last 8 years, it's possible to waste a hell of a lot of money on not much.

And as Newcastle will now find out - they will pay a tax on every player they sign because everyone knows they're loaded. Every player they try and sign now will be worth 50 million.

Wouldn't surprise me if they signed Kane to 'announce' themselves.
