He's exactly what we need in this side. A brave £#%&!er to go and win the ball/organise the defence. Should still be here tbh, had another season in him at least.

nah his legs had gone mate. Best to leave with some dignity rather than go the rio or gary neville route and have everyone calling him a liability.

Vidic would hardly improve the quality of the passing from the back in this 352.

Possibly right, but he'd still be better than £#%&!ing Evans has played this season.

Debatable... he can't even get in the Inter side & when he did he was giving away pens & scoring OG's, calamitous spell over there so far sadly. Think he's just fallen apart physically since his cruciate tbh the poor @#%&!.

£7m for him & £5.5m for Evra, mental

Alright alright ffs, don't let facts and the truth get in the way of my nostalgic mind of wanting a fully fit Vidic in place of that soft @#%&! Evans

But yeah, singing those two for that much was outstanding business.

Let's not forget that many "fans" were slagging them off the first few months after they signed

Great 12 months of transfer business over 2005/06, even though we didn't spend that much money. Really helped lay some serious foundations for what followed:

Summer 2005 - VDS, Park, Foster
January 2006 - Evra, Vidic.
Summer 2006 - Carrick

Think they were our only signings in that 12 months

Except for Foster (forgot we actually bought him, tbh) they were all a big success.

(and yes, Park *does* count in that lot - did a huge amount for us even if he stayed on a bit too long)

Agree completely, Park was an good signing and played his part.

Even Foster had his pen shoot out in the League Cup final

Must admit I took vida, evra and Ferdinand for granted thinking our defence would always stay good if we replaced them one by one over say 3 seasons and not let it go to shit as all 3 where still as good as Jones,Evans and smalling last year when they where all well past it :shakehead:
