Default Tom Cleverley

Scored again for Watford, 5 goals now.

Nice little write up:

Let him stay there for the season. Get him back in the Summer and give the lad a chance.

Going to be a very good player and will always chip in with goals.

Only question for me is where he would play for United, not a player that would be a CM and not strictly a winger. Just where you fit him in.

I'd love him to get a decent crack at it at OT though.

I'd play him out wide or one of a 3 in the middle if/when used.

still developing, really, so it's hard to say where he'll end up playing. fergie will almost certainly start him out on the wing, it's what he usually does and it makes sense. it's a more forgiving position if you make an error, you can see the whole pitch, tactically it's pretty straightforward.

great prospect. things are looking very healthy for us in the next few years.

He's a central midfielder. Not a better prospect than James, Tunnicliffe and several others. Don't see a long term future for him here.

He doesn't have the skill or pace to play out wide at the top level, going off what i've seen. He may well get away with it playing at a lower level.

I like him, but I feel he doesn't have the quality to make it, tbh.

Good, robust midfielder, who gets stuck in always, but personally would doubt if he would make the step up.

He's a better prospect than Cleverly. He's also still 16.

tom cleverley is like lampard. has the knack to be at right place at right time. look at his goals for united, watford or england under 21s... he is a real find who is prepared to graft also. you had to see his assist for england under 21s to see how good a vision he has. superb through balls.

As an outsider looking in I have always felt that a big reason for United's success over the years has been that the core of the team has always been made up of homegrown players. Scholes, Giggs, Neville, move on to the next era to O'Shea, Fletcher, Gibson and in the next coming you have the likes of the Da Silva twins, Welbeck and Tom Cleverley; the latter in particular is a potential superstar in the making and a player who's versatility will give Ferguson an embarrassment of riches.
lad knows his onions.

Watford were impressive to watch last night with Lansbury and Cleverley.

He got a great assist for Lansbury's second.

As did Danny Simpson and Fabian Brandy. Good day for our lads. Not that any of them will come back and play for the first team (except maybe Cleverley who is a local lad down here).
