Let's wait until we're not just playing against relegation fodder every week.

That's been the Achilles for the last few years .They've done pretty well in the big 6 mini league over the last season or two

We're better without OT being full of old, whinging c&£#s...

If we can get to October with fanless games we will fly...

We’ve got City’s number and Liverpool are meh. Batter everyone else and it’s in the bag. James and Mata can get us the coca-cola. The quad squad.

This. Invest big on 4-5 players aged 20-24, get rid of about 8 this year, use next season to bed in, sharpen them all up and get some momentum, proper challenge ‘21-22..

We've played games which are dead rubbers.

We all wrote this season restart off when talking about Liverpool - teams won't be up for it; no fitness; water breaks; no crowds.

these have been exhibition matches.

it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't make top 4 next season.

funny how we've played down the restart when it suited us, but now we're using it as a marker for next season.

these are pre-season friendlies in all but name.

If we can get 3 more quality signings that have the same impact as Fernandes, I don't see why it's not ON.

Sancho, a top-class DM, and a world-class CB would take us to the next level.

this. chelsea have bought a striker. matic will be a year older.

if we got a couple of defensive midfielders and a centre-half.... fine. no use judging us when we're not under any pressure, though. at the moment, we are lulling ourselves into a false sense of security (maguire, lindelof and de gea are doing their bit to keep it real).

should have beaten spurs.

With a few more decent signings we could be really good, and I wouldn't rule us out at least attempting something serious.

So we're reliant on our "great" owners and Woodward delivering the goods there.

Oh shit

If we buy one or two in the off-season (is there one?) then I think we may just compete but fall just short

21/22 is very much on (IF we strengthen in the necessary areas).

These are strange times in football but l can't see us challenging for the league next season.

We still lack consistency that will result in us dropping unnecessary points. Top 3 would be excellent progress and some decent results against Citeh and the scousers would be a good season.

I think getting in the CL will help attract the players Ole wants and he has a philosophy and sense of direction that is now clear to see

His biggest quality ? Mental strength. He has had some nightmare days in the job and held his nerve, knowing what needed to change and rarely bleated to the media about how difficult everything is. Mou and LvG at times cracked with the expectation pointing the finger elsewhere for their own errors of judgement.

Ole is no bullshitter.

Last time I looked United were around 13's for the league next year.

I think that would be a decent trading bet.

We've had 4 league games since the restart.

2 were against teams competing with us for a European place. Drawn 1, Won 1.
2 were against teams fighting relegation. Won 2.

Hardly dead rubbers. Altho we do have some of those coming up (S'hampton & Palace).

As for competing for the league, next season, no. The season after that, with the right signings between now & then? Yes, I think so.

in the context of a normal season - i'd say you were right. but i can't take much from this at all. call me pessimistic. if we we're playing like this in the first few months of the next season, i'll be happy.

but weren't we saying the game had changed with 5 subs and water breaks when liverpool were winning the league?

Start well then anything can happen.

If we could hang in there until after christmas then who knows, pressure could tell on other teams.

Be nice to be involved for longer than a few weeks tbh
