Do you reckon you’ll ever get round to taking it down?

1000th career game yesterday v SPAL (whoever the £#%&! they are). Scored of course, 11th consecutive game to do so equaling Gabriel Batistuta's 24 year old serie a record. Can break it against Inter next week.

He's now scored 725 goals for club and country.

It's a stick bitter @#%&!s use to beat him with, that he's a diver and only scores penalties.

He's scored 93 btw, so only the 623 goals not from the spot.

in his first few seasons he frustrated quite a few fans even though the potential was clearly there. iirc he got called a "showpony" a lot.

can you imagine if united signed a young ronaldo in this day and age? calls for him to be sold to ipswich aots.

Missed last weeks match therefore not a proper consecutive run, still a decent player tbf.

A "luxury player" with "no end product". He has subsequently made up for that a bit tbf.

One of those remember where you were moments. Me: a bar on a beach in Thailand. I might have been a little stoned.

Last time I was at OT was the Everton game above. That's a long time ago. I was though there for Maradona 84. Don't remember a thing except thinking the stand was going to collapse.

If he wanted to, he could easily play on at a high level to 40 or so. What might his stats be by then?

‏I reckon top international goalscorer ever is the accolade he most covets .

After that he'll go full meerkat looking round for records to bag
