I was in the Homlesdale End, above their 'ultras'. Young had a good game - palace were booing him

they have a decent support, albeit a lot of drums

They boo him every time because of a penalty which was legit years ago. During the Moyes year I think

Works hard, is a bit shit and always has been.
You do need the average triers with good attitudes to fill out the squad though. In fact they're important for those roles.

You can get away with one or two guys like this playing a little more often than you'd like (O'Shea) if the rest of the squad is strong and balanced. The inadequacies elsewhere always push the limited players more into the spotlight though.

That's the problem with Youngers though, he's never out of the spotlight. He always bloody plays.

He was brutal on their goal but fair play he redeemed himself. Eventually, it was the second time he'd got in behind them... and he was fouled the first time but play to the whistle man.

Pass from Poggers tho

And he's playing in a position where he will be in direct opposition with quality attacking players, often isolated one on one, depending on how much his team mates are helping.

In the last month or so he's faced Zaha, Mane, Hazard and Di Maria.

Top full backs would have their moments against them . The fact Young is a 33 year old winger makes it amazing he does as well as he does.

Does tend to happen even with the great sides. You watch old footage and you forget even in the best teams there were one or two of those average triers. Young isn't in good form (goal aside) but he still brings things to the table on and off the field. Deffo manager's pet.

Shuffled the pack and got an easy (in hindsight) away win. Ole

Lukaku - what other player could score two good goals and still have a shit game?
