Eric is close but in terms of pure adolescent joy that came out of the blue Cole was unbeatable. Get home from school and teletext BLAM! No rumours, no inkling, didn't even seem something would consider... Scarf hot genuine delight from both player and Frogson. What a buzz.



Worst - fellaini. A protracted, over priced mess that clearly signalled our demise from elite capability and what was to follow

Best: Bobby Charlton

Worst: Di Maria

Two complete opposites in terms of attitude, work ethic, desire and commitment.

Of course we signed him probably on schoolboy forms in those days - all players have always had to be 'signed' whether transferred from other clubs or not.

You could have of course had said 'transfer'...so does a free agent count or does it have to be someone under contract?

Best, worst, favourite, least favourite. It's all a bit ambiguous.

Schmeichel and Evra were brilliant signings but I'd never heard of either at the time.

Was underwhelmed when Eric signed but ended up in love with him.

Was thrilled with Veron but it proved pointless.

Thread needs more focus for me...

It's Cantona - as others have said. Cost £#%&! all and was the catalyst for everything followed.

Worst is definitely Owen. A disgraceful human being and a washed up player. Pogba a close second in terms of value for money.
