Can't wait to watch him hand the armband to the vice captain whilst being stretchered off 15 minutes into every game.

The fans visibly tiring of clapping him off down the tunnel after he's collided with yet another pitch side inanimate object.

Best player? Because he runs around a lot?

If Rooney was so good he wouldn't be shoehorned into central midfield whenever we're chasing a game.

He's not good enough to play as a 10, and Van Persie is a far better number 9. If he's signed, then he needs to pull his finger out and help our attacks stop breaking down after two passes. Next season he'll probably be up top after we've sold RVP.

Yep he'll be captain!

And take free kicks and penalties and corners and sit at the front of the bus and not have to pay subs etc etc....

Why would he not take the freekicks & corners? He's the best crosser of a ball at the Club.
He stopped taking Pens a while back didn't he??

Love the way Rooney annoys certain people so much ..hope this news about his new deal is true & that he takes over the Captains armband and goes on to break the Club goalscoring records
Great player.

Doesn't piss me off pal, just pointing out the fact that Moyes will Continue to treat Rooney with Kid gloves...

My comment about free kicks, pens etc was meant as a piss take, comparing Moyes and Rooney to a father and son in a under 11'a side, in which the father picks his kid to do every thing.....including being captain.

Who will be our captain in January when Roon goes to Dubai with his misses and the 'physio'?...

On his day Rooney is a top player, no doubt about that.

Trouble is 'his day' is very rare these days IMO! Running around and 'putting the effort in' should be a minimum? And comparing him to other players and saying 'he's been out best player this season' is not really a compliment when you look at the dross we have in the squad?

For 300k a week he should be pulling up trees and be one of the best players in world football, Rooney isn't.....
