All the boredom of the first 75mins was worth it for the hilarity of the last spell.
Messy selection and shape, Giggs, Anderson and Rooney did not work as a trio, Hernandez was getting no support, ball was being moved so slowly in midfield that Welbeck and Nani had no space at all to work with so were entirely ineffectual. Odd game, the manner in which bringing Van Persie on changed the flow of the game made the cautious way that Utd played for so long seem unnecessary. |
