Maybe he has?

Although I can’t imagine someone with actual info calling Neil Custis from the sun and demanding money for it tbh.

Could anyone honestly say this lad is worth dropping a World Record fee on? Any justification whatsoever other than 'it's not my money'?

Bear in mind, the £90m splashed on Lukaku wasn't your money either but hasn't helped in any way...

I don’t think there are many CB’s worth that sort of money anyway tbf

Van Dijk is a good player and current record for a cb? but Liverpool usually play with two defensive midfielders in front of him so he gets a load of protection.

We’ve tried buying prospects (Bailly and Linders) and although Linders has improved, it’s taken a while to get to that point.

Maguire has clearly proven he’s a very good centre back in this league. The price doesn’t bother me because it’s all ridiculous at this point, players like Tyrone Mings going for close to 30m etc shows how crazy it’s all got.

I think we should have bought Maguire last season for less than we’re being quoted now and if we don’t sign him this summer we’ll probably be trying to sign him next summer for 100m...

I do like other players like Diop and Ake, but both would cost around 50-70m anyway and I have reservations over both.

If it stops Laurel & Hardy getting in the team it's cheap at half the price.

Plus he has a massive head which is sure to attract the ball in both boxes.

Finish 2nd
Refuse Mourinho the player for £60m
Mou has breakdown
Appoint ex player as manager
Finish 6th
Buy player for £80m.

Classic Ed.

He’s also very good on the ball and can pick a pass

That should help us massively in transitioning from back to front quickly which is something we’ve struggled with for a while. Also means the likes of Pogba won’t have to come so deep to pick the ball up.
