Still, we might hope for his form to improve a bit now even if people are right about his longer term trajectory. Will probably need a good display from him tomorrow too

Do you think they inserted "come off your line and catch a cross" into his new contract?

With the way things have gone the past six years I think you could be right pal
Spot on pal.

Had a couple of blinders but other than that... replaceable.

VDS even said the same.

Over the next season or two when it becomes obvious that his decline is terminal he'll be another one earning stupid money that we can't shift.

He is a goalkeeper who is not yet 29, FFS.

Who has been our best player for the best part of five years and stuck with us.

A few bad months and suddenly he's shit.

Hmm not too sure. Let in a terrible goal today. He's not Ederson level is he tbf and he is only 26. I've not been convinced by him at all.

He’s 28 ffs. Schmeichel was only just signing for us at that age.

He has dips in form whenever there’s uncertainty over his future. Same happened under van gaal.

The club would have been slagged off if they’d let de gea leave for nothing. Yet here we are, the club being slagged off for giving a new deal to our best player over the last 6 years. Ycmiu.

Couple of sharp saves yesterday.

That tip over from Chillwell would have caught a lot of keepers out.

Ridiculous the stick he has been getting on here IMO. If anyone deserves a bit of faith and support , he does.

He's been one of the best in the world for the last five years. It's going to take a bit more than a shite few months in a shite team to change that.

He hasn't actually signed anything yet tho has he...?

Still wouldn't be surprised to see him run his deal down tbh.

Can you imagine the response on here if united signed a 28 year old keeper from brondby to be our number 1?

Neither would I. He seemed in better form yesterday though, so hopefully that’s a sign it’s settled.

He’s a lot nearer 29 than 28 tbf. That’s a fact.

He's in his 29th year though, that's an absolute fact.
