So Spurs are planning for the short term, possibly for the inevitable meltdown.

Glad we didn't bow to these stupid demands.

But the stupid thing about accepting the buy back clause is that the only way Madrid are going to want him back is if he ends up being a world class player, in which case you've already agreed to sell a world class player for peanuts.
It’s effectively loaning Madrid 30m to help their cash flow during covid, and they get to decide whether to pay you back whilst taking an asset off your hands worth far more. Desperate by Tottenham. All the risk, no reward.

Quite a deal for Madrid.

This pretty much nails it, suspect the player sees it as a loan deal as well and hopes he will be back in Spain in a year or two.

For once the club has done the right thing and walked away

Yep. The and the Bale deal. Jose helping out his old employers. Spurs fans should be fuming at these deals if they go through.

Getting Bale on loan is pretty good isn't it? And buy back or not, we're stuck with Shaw and his tits for the foreseeable.

Even if Spurs pay a third of his wages that may be more than anyone else is getting which piss off Kane and the others - If Ali does go the other way that will piss off the fans.

We've been linked with the Porto LB, Alex Telles, as an alternative. He has a €40m buyout clause, however he only has a year on his deal so a price of €25m is being touted.

Kane is simple. He won't even notice.

Last time he went to Levy asking for a rise they distracted him with a scooby doo colouring book and booked him an uber to mcdonalds.

Hasn't been back since.

For Bale, depends on how much of his wage they have to swallow. And not sure I'd want a 31 year old who has hardly played for over a year. But it's Spurs and it's Jose, so maybe they don't care. Just happy it's not us.

As for Reguilion, many more (and better) options out there if it's a position we desperately need to fill. Ones that include players who actually want to move to a new club and don't come with a piss taking buy back clause.
