That's not true, unfortunately. Very often they have to wait a day or two for the initial swelling to go down before they do a scan, so there's no reason for him to go immediately to hospital or back home.

Amazingly interesting question here from me.

When Vidic went off, if it was you who was deciding who to bring on, would you have:

1. Brought Pique on as a straight swap

2. Brought O'Shea on as a straight swap

3. Moved Brown to centre-half and brought O'Shea on as right back

4. Moved Brown to centre-half and brought Hargreaves on as right back

5. Something I've not thought of

The right decision was made.

Pique is very inexperienced at this level.

Brown was needed to negate the threat down their left.

3. was the option that first occured to me, however, the right decision was made. Wes is settled at right back and moving him round could be detrimental to his performance, and big John is a center half anyway.
