This is like payback for the year we suffered.
Stuivenberg masterminded dutch u17 european championships in 2011 and 2012, so he'll know the likes of Memphis Depay, Vilhena, Kongolo and Jetro Willems etc very well, which is a big advantage.

Not surprised he starts working immediately, Lvg will have wanted his man in there to make his late coming to our preseason a bit easier.

"Albert recently finished as the coach of the Netherlands Under-21 team. In 2011 and 2012, he led the Dutch Under-17 team to their triumphs in the UEFA European Championships."

Imagine that - getting a coaching job at the biggest club in the world after a track record of achievement and success.

It's truly amazing that NOBODY CONSIDERED THIS last season.:shakehead:

Why is that important though when you've got the CLASS OF NINETY-TWO?! They get it! They understand United. They know what it's all about.

Sure, they have never achieved anything of note in a coaching capacity, but they GET IT!!!

That is true. I was thinking more of Wee Jimmy and Steve Round, but fair point.

Tbh that current crop of youngsters might not be that special, which if anything would make the job he did more impressive.

Few in the media also having a pop at Depay but I thought even last night he showed glimpses of real quality.

You hope we'd have a big advantage on any major upcoming Dutch talent now. Richairo Zivkovic who just moved to Ajax for one.

Yeah he wasn't at his best last night, says a lot about how well he did previous for people to be criticising a 20 year old in a world cup for not being brilliant in every appearance he makes.

Tonny Vilhena and Depay are seen as the main talents from that group. Vilhena looks a young Thiago from the little ive seen.

Yep, I think those are the two.

Dunno what happened with Willems. Always assumed he must have talent, but looked really shite every time I've seen him.

De Vrij's distribution last night early on was appalling. Martins Indi far better in that regard.

It really is. In any other field it would be a massive scandal if that happened.
The time taken for Moyes to be exposed was mercifully short.

Am starting to think that Moyes was a sacrificial lamb. Loads of managers expressed an interest in the job but were hesitant to be the man that followed Fergie. Moyes was the shittest possible manager you could make an argument for. Do I think Fergie is more likely to be asleep at the wheel or to be the guy who throws a supposed pal under a bus.

Bit of info about the guy here (worked with van P)

Will it ever be the same without Wee Jimmy though?

So true.

With the number of people analyzing the shit out of football these days, it's a wonder no one seems to have noticed the tenuous correlation between quality as a player and quality as a manager. Anyone would think they were completely different skill sets or something.

It's an area we've fallen massively short in since queiroz left. Fergie, like most old people, just surrounded himself with people he was comfortable with and did the same things he was comfortable doing. There hasn't been any serious evolution In our playing style since 2007.
