Worst case scenario, ya, I'd agree with swamping midfield and trying to control possession of the football.

Park may well cover Rafael, but then again we've now seen Giggs, Park, Nani and Ronaldo on that side in the last few games, so expect to see Rooney out there a fair bit on Tuesday with Park on the left and Ronaldo playing off Berbatov. There's also a fair chance of Ferguson using the option of Neville stepping in to sweep the second ball behind Ferdinand. Let's hope Evans makes it and has a confident start as well.

and thank all your gods that nutsack is our number three choice in green. he was pretty awful again defenders didn't want to pass to him. he can't fit in with how we paly

tbh it's more of a worry how easily one straight ball down the side of the centreback can take United's defence out; we've got away with it in similar scenarios quite a few times during the clean sheets run
Agree with all to a certain extent which means jason or fletch on the right flank, to a lesser extent lugs. But if lugs and tevez start (unlikely......but) expect a lot of harrying , closing down, and generally chasing their own tails. The only good is that errors may be enforced on the Inter defence especially if Park is thrown into the mix as well leaving chances for scholes / carrick / ronnie pushing forward.

Tbh though I see O'Christ !! alongside Rio , maybe even with fletch at RB.

Face it , it could be "pull your hair out" predictable, or take 10 minutes staring at the team sheet to try to take it all in. Fergie's capable of both, especially over the last couple of seasons

Bit harsh on Park imo ........Martin can still do a job for us, alongside Blanc

rooney - fletcher - carrick - giggs - park

* one of them is bound to be fit. we're £#%&!ed otherwise. in fact, we're probably £#%&!ed if any one of those three makes it, too. of the midfielders, I would have thought fletch most likely to fill in there, due to his ability in the air. no, suprisingly, I am not joking.

Evans didn't seem in much discomfort, typical Ferguson to get the first shot in

The centre back issue is a huge worry. That Vidic ban could really cost us

Brown broke a bone in his foot during training according to the Guardian. O'Shea at CB wouldn't be that bad. I remember him doing a very good job in Rome last season.

they want to get that sorted out - we always seemed to get stiffed in some shit shirt selling excercise. £#%&! off crap tournaments where only our players seem to pick up bans.

According to this Rafael is now out of the Inter match

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...962816,00.html

Both Evans and O'Shea travel so best case scenario we get a defence of

O'Shea
Evans
Rio
Evra

2 carrying knocks and Rio seemingly having a back problem.

If neither Evans and O'Shea make it Utd are seriously screwed, not just at the back but in midfield

Fletcher
carrick
Rio
Evra

would probably be the back 4, maybe Fabio at right back but that would be asking a lot in his only his second match for the club.

If not the midfield would then be something like;

Ronaldo
Giggs
Scholes
Park

Not exactly a defensive or physical force, would probably find that berbatov would be dropped and Tevez and Rooney would play to add workrate and tracking back.

Any other options? Gibson in midfield?

Have to hope that Evans ans O'Shea are Ok otherwise the tie could be over before we get to OT.

I expect Evans and O'Shea will play, any doubts and they wouldn't have gone.

Rio needs to be at his best to settle us at the back.
