We’re in a real bind here. Even if you think there’s a 50/50 shot you’re getting rid, how do you give that man more money? And if that’s the case, then it becomes more and more obvious to the man in charge that he’s a lame duck; that’ll be good for morale.
People talk about a real plan for the next appointment, but I’m not sure how you do that anymore. It’s not like the old days where we could raid anyone, mid season if necessary, and get anyone we wanted. These people are on big contracts and clubs don’t need to bend over to us anymore. The only people likely to be available when you pull the trigger on a manager these days are ones you wouldn’t have chosen anyway; Zidane, Wenger, Allardyce
etc...
