Default Liverpool agree £18.5m fee to sign Glen Johnson

Good player, but its not a massive step up from Arbeloa, for that sort of deal surely youd expect more.

Anyway, Benitez to spend loads of money on positions not really a huge priority ala Robie Keane then he'll cry that he doesn't have any money.

I like Johnson. I think he's a very good right back and definitely one of the most improved players of last season.

£18.5m is daylight robbery though.

that's a whole lot of of money for the lad

in today's market that could fetch you nearly a whole of Ronaldo's left leg..

Arbeloa is steady, there's no point changing that position unless you come across someone exception or someone really cheap.

I think it's to do with the need for English trained players over the next few season. And Pompey owe liverrpool a few mill from the Crouch signing.

But still, its £18.5m for Glen Johnson who is just a decent player, i'm really glad we didn't pursue him at that price.

He definitely doesn't spend money though does he, our old chum Rafa

Will improve their squad no doubt, batshit crazy fee though, could have took a swing at any right back in the world for that sort of money.

I'm thinking the rats have accepted some sort of deal for one of their players, there's no way Benitez is daft enough to blow that much without more funds or new players becoming available.

A swing of almost £100m net spend if both deals go through.
