It didn't make any sense whatsoever when you posted it, because it's a phrase usually reserved for fouls not given in the penalty area.

Commentators don't give fouls either.

Apart from that though...


Makes perfect sense ...they treating him as if he's a GK when he makes that challenge when he's the same as any player. So he is given special treatment. Anywhere else on the pitch eg not by the GK on the edge of the penalty area.
