We didn't get near that even at our most insultingly dominant, and tbh I don't think its RAWKish to just raise the point.
Honestly believe the opposition was always much stronger when we are at our peak at home and abroad. City and Liverpool have had the benefit of an absolutely shite league to dominate.

No one is doubting they’re a great team, but when you get managers saying before the game in the pre match how it’s virtually impossible to beat liverpool it does make you wonder do teams give it a go against them (neil warnock, I’m looking at you, massive Colin £#%&!er)

City were the same. People beaten before they got onto the pitch and all that. All it takes is a couple of bad results for people to realise that they're not invincible.

100% truth, just look at league tables form 1990s compared to now, back then it was not uncommon for teams to draw 10+ games fom top to bottomn but now its rare if teams draw more than 5+ games.

Stronger or not they still gave it a go. Every season we won the title we lost some crucial games and had some ridiculous banana skin results

It seems like the opposition see city/liverpool as their next fixture and just think “can’t be arsed”

Momentum and confidence is massive.

It builds an aura, but it can go like 'that'.

Look at Leicester. Won it on confidence and momentum.

Chelsea the next year. From 10th previous season to pissing it.

And it works in reverse.

City were being pegged as the greatest side english football has ever seen. Seriously. Ridiculous.

Now they look a mess. Just by being challenged one team.

Now that team looks invincible, but of course, they're not.

They're excellent, no question, but right now they're in that moment where they never think they'll lose and neither do the teams they play.

That will change. Whether it's quickly or with some other team step it up, but they seem like a winning machine in this moment rather than some special, unique side.

When us, Blackburn, Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester won the title teams still gave it a go.

Even arsenals invincibles (TM) they still dropped points.

City’s first two titles - ok teams gave it a go but the last 3 seasons including this it seems to be the mantra that clubs switch off for the top team and it’s taking the piss.

Best league in the world? My arse.

Dunk is right in the the league is much weaker now.

Gone are the days when dogged and spirited Bolton, Blackburn, Boro and even Stoke sides caused upsets.

Stood to reason that when Arsenal went unbeaten they still had 13 winless games.

Our 99 and 08 sides would have won it with 10-15 more points today than they did at the time imo. And I know that will just sound salty towards Liverpool and City but you had and in Liverpool’s case still have zero faith anyone’s turning them over.

The highlight for us this season from here for me would be beating the scousers in the FA cup semi or final. I can’t see us winning at Anfield tbh, well give it ago but ultimately come up short imo.
